After 71 Years of Marriage, They Beat Covid Together

It’s easy to get lost in the bad news. We want to take a minute to share something a little different. ABC-36 News spoke with a couple in Lexington who have been married since 1949 and both just added “Covid survivor” to their list of accomplishments.  Charles and Nellie Anness were both hospitalized with Covid-19 and it was a difficult and challenging time for both of them. After more than 70 years of marriage, the ten days of isolation was almost too much to handle. Fortunately, both recovered and were able to leave the hospital together.

Their story is inspiring. It is an example of both perseverance and the power of love. Their strength pulled them through and their love gave them strength. This is the kind of story we could all use.
