Medical bills can present a real challenge for many people in the United States. While the high cost of healthcare likely touches everyone at some point, older Americans are often the most affected.

While seniors often have more medical bills than their younger counterparts, programs like Social Security and Medicare are intended to ease the burden a little for those who have retired and live on a limited income.

Unfortunately, however, new research indicates that more older Americans are struggling with Medical Debt. In fact, close to four million older adults could not pay their total medical bills in 2020.
