A Great Man with a Great Message. Revisiting the Oldest Living World War II Veteran at 112
Last year, we shared a post with you about Lawrence Brooks, the oldest living World War II veteran. After making it through 2020 and all of the recent challenges facing the world, Mr. Brooks has added another birthday. At 112, his inspirational and positive attitude has not changed. From 1940 to 1945, Brooks served bravely as a member of the 91st Engineer Batallion.
Last year, medical staff at the local VA hospital surprised Lawrence with a special birthday celebration. This year was a much bigger event. In celebration of Mr. Brooks’ 112th birthday, crowds gathered as the city of New Orleans honored him with parades and other festivities. Another year older, Brooks still has the same positive message for those asking the secret to long life. Check out the video below for a little inspiration from this American hero.
We believe that every member of The Greatest Generation (those who lived through WW II and Korea) deserves the best. Unfortunately, many of these great Americans are not receiving everything they have earned. This is why we support a bill we call The Greatest Generation Benefits Act.
