Is Social Security Livable in 2021?

Social Security is an important lifeline for many Americans. However, a lot of people face an unpleasant surprise after retirement. While it’s easy to think that after years of work, we will be able to live on our earned benefits, this is often not the case. Average Social Security benefits do not provide enough for many people to live. Consider that the average benefits for seniors in 2021are only $1,543 per month. That’s $18,516 per year. We at The Greatest Generation believe that our seniors deserve better. Those who gave so much during World War 2 and the Korean War should not be given crumbs now.
