Little Richard was a one-of-a-kind performer. His music helped to define the sound of 1950s rock and roll and yet, his unique style placed him on an island of his own. As a musician and a person, there is truly no one like him.

His vocalization, instrument work, and vibrant stage shows were like nothing else at the time. Musically, his influence can be felt across genres and styles. Perhaps more important, however, was his contribution to an ever-changing American Culture. He was a pioneer and a legend. Check out our look back at Little Richard here.
