Tulsa Retirement Community Residents Shocked by 30-Day Notice to Vacate
Residents of The Broadmore retirement community were blindsided by a notice that appeared throughout the facility recently. Essentially, it is an eviction notice that applies to many older Americans who called the place home.
“Dear Residents, it is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Broadmoor will be closing its doors…please consider this as 30 days’ notice… for you to vacate your unit,” the note read.
This is clearly troubling to the residents and their families. Even worse, some feel that they were misled about the plans for the community. One resident who had lived in Broadmore since December says that she had repeatedly asked if the place was being sold and was repeatedly told “no.”
This is really the worst kind of surprise, and it certainly seems unfair. You can read more about this story and how the Tulsa City Council and others in the area are responding here.
