This Book Remembers the WWII Unit with the Most Medals of Honor in Europe

There were many important heroes who fought in the second world war. Of course, we must acknowledge and respect all of them, but an insightful book shines an important light on one particular WWII unit.

The 3rd Infantry Division fought on many battlefields and accomplished some amazing things. You may have heard of the 3rd ID because it is the very same WWII unit that famed veteran and actor Audie Murphy was a part of.

More than just the great Audie Murphy, the others who served with him earned their spot in the history books. From North Africa to the capture of Adolf Hitler’s lair in Berchtesgaden, Germany, the soldiers of this impressive unit were extremely important and received the most medals of any other U.S. division in the Second World War.
