Oldest Living WWII Veteran Going Strong at 111
Lawrence Brooks is the oldest living WWII Veteran. born in 1909, he recently turned 111 years old and still maintains a positive and youthful spirit that we can all learn from. He was recently honored by VA Hospital staff. Doctors and Nurses lined up to wish him a happy birthday and to show their respect for this American hero. When asked by WWLTV for the secret to his long life, Brooks said there is no secret, but shared one piece of advice: “The best thing to do is serve God and be nice to people.” A man who has been through war, adversity, and over a hundred years of life and still encourages kindness is definitely someone we should respect.
People like Lawrence Brooks deserve more than our respect. Unfortunately, Seniors over the age of 82 do not currently receive Social Security Benefits that keep up with the cost of living. The Greatest Generation is working to pass a bill we call “The Greatest Generation Benefits Act” to increase benefits for seniors. Please help us gain support for this mission by sharing this post with friends and family. And don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, and check our website regularly for updates.
