Must Watch! WWII Veteran Speaks Emotionally About Today’s America

WW II veteran worried about the state of today's America

In the video below, a 100-year-old WWII Veteran shares his thoughts about life and America. During the interview, veteran Carl Dekle becomes emotional because he knows first-hand the sacrifices made by Americans in WWII and feels like the country is no longer the one so many died for.

A Heartbreaking Message

It’s heartbreaking to hear one of our heroes feeling like we do not truly respect the great sacrifice of those who fought to preserve our freedoms. Perhaps, however, he has a point. Are we truly working to maintain the integrity of a nation that is supposed to stand for liberty?

Maybe we have lost sight of what these great Americans were really fighting for. It is not, however, too late. Within his words about American life, there was also a note of optimism and love for which Carl is known.

Important Advice From This WWII Veteran at 100

At heart, Carl always lived his life deeply loving the world around him, often speaking of its beauty. Beyond his concerns for the state of the country, he had some advice for younger generations. “You just remember everything’s beautiful and live every day to the fullest. Just enjoy everything you possibly can.”

Take a moment to watch the video and soak in this man’s message. Americans can and should all strive to do better. We also must, through our actions, honor those who sacrificed for us. We must do these things without losing sight of the beauty around us.
