In the town of Broomfield, Colorado, there is a special bowling tradition. The great thing about this tradition is how it unites generations and brings members of the community together who would not have a lot in common otherwise.

Seniors from Broomfield High recently shared the lanes at Chipper’s bowling alley with some bowlers that are a little past their high school years. Physical Education teacher Tom Burgesser said that this is a proud school tradition that was sorely missed on both sides during the pandemic.

Burgesser’s bowling class typically hits the alley 4 times a week. Most of the time, they don’t go on Mondays because the lanes are reserved for the senior league. The senior league, however, doesn’t mind sharing every once in a while.

When the two very different generations get together, it’s more than just bowling but a chance to connect and share stories. Ultimately, both old and young walk away with a valuable experience. Check out Broomfields news site for the full story here.

We love this story. We’re big supporters of events and programs that bring a smile to the faces of our great older Americans.
