Retirement Home Honors Veterans in First Gathering Since Covid Started
The Lawton’s Brookridge Retirement Community had a special way of celebrating Memorial Day. In a very special ceremony, staff and residents honored each and every veteran who had resided or passed through the halls of the retirement home as well as all who served and sacrificed for this country.
The ceremony included a Memorial Day speech from the mayor, a Presentation of Colors from Fort Sill Soldiers, and a slideshow honoring every veteran who had resided in the Lawton’s Brookridge Retirement home.
Not only was this a great way to honor veterans, but it was also the first gathering held in the retirement community since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. What a great idea. Read more about the event here from KSWO.
We love reading stories like this. It is, of course, so important to support our veterans and to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We believe, however, that more can be done to give back to the Americans who gave so much. That is why we support The Greatest Generation Benefits Act. This bill would change the lives of many older Americans. Learn more and sign our petition here.
