Veterans of The Forgotten War Must Be Remembered
The Korean War, often referred to as the “forgotten war,” was a challenging time for the members of the greatest generation. In the 1950s, these brave Americans faced immense difficulties as they fought in a foreign land against a formidable enemy.
Fresh on the heels of World War II, the conflict in Korea was an unwelcome return to the battlefield for Americans who were ready to move on to a time of peace and prosperity. Out of a nation tired of fighting, rose heroes who didn’t hesitate to, once again, answer the call.
These soldiers found themselves on battlefields between South Korean allies and communist North Korea, facing intense combat and navigating unfamiliar terrain. Furthermore, they had to endure extreme weather conditions, adding another layer of hardship to an already demanding conflict.
Despite being overshadowed by other conflicts like WW II and Vietnam, the Korean War tested the resilience and courage of those who served. It is important to remember and honor their sacrifices during this often-overlooked chapter in American history.
We believe in supporting and giving back to all of America’s heroes. That is why we support a bill we call The Greatest Generation Benefits Act. Learn about how this bill gives back here. Keep up to date with this proposed legislation and more by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
