Remembering WW2 Veteran Lawrence Brooks

We have gladly followed WWII veteran Lawrence Brooks for the last two years. We covered this hero’s special 111th birthday and checked in with him once again when he turned 112. He was the oldest living World War 2 veteran and a constant inspiration. Sadly, we will not be able to revisit him for his 113th as this great man passed away earlier this year.

We certainly could not go without saying a few words about Lawrence Brooks. He was a war hero, a survivor of everything from racial injustice to Hurricane Katrina. He was the embodiment of strength but never stopped letting love lead him. He lived an inspiring life, and we should all take a moment to remember him.
