Korean War Veteran’s Stolen Purple Heart Returned to His Family

A Korean War hero’s Purple Heart was stolen and thought to be lost forever. Thanks to some good Samaritans, however, this important medal was returned. The Purple Heart in question was awarded to Marvin R. Setter after his service in Korea and remained with Marvin’s nephew until it was stolen in a burglary.

The thieves apparently cast it away when they realized it held no monetary value to them. Weeks later, a woman and her granddaughter stumbled upon the medal and tracked down the owner through social media. See the video below.

It is hard to imagine that anyone would steal something like this. It is, however, wonderful to know that there are people who will step up when they have the opportunity. We are so glad this important medal made it home.
